Homemade Coco Rice Krispies | Instant Stovetop Cereal | DIY Cocoa Puffs Cereal

Ingredients
  

  • 2 tbsp Virgin coconut oil or flavorless veg oil
  • 3 tbsp Pure maple syrup or honey
  • 1/4 - 1/2 tsp Vanilla extract/essence
  • 2-3 tbsp Unsweetened cocoa powder I used 3 tbsp
  • 3 cup Puffed rice cereal (Pori)

Instructions
 

  • In a pan, combine together the virgin coconut oil along with maple syrup, vanilla extract, and cocoa powder.
  • Add in puffed rice cereal and mix thoroughly. (* see below to bake this in an oven)
  • Heat the mixture on a low-medium flame until the coating dries up and the cereal doesn't clump together.
  • Remove from heat and let the cereal cool down completely before storing it in an airtight container.
  • Your Instant healthy Coco puffs cereal made on the stovetop is ready to enjoy!!

Notes

  • * To make a large batch in an oven: Spread the puffed rice coated with the chocolate mixture on a pan lined with parchment paper. Bake in a 170C/340F preheated oven for 3-5 mins, giving a mix halfway through.
  • Instead of puffed rice you can also use puffed brown rice cereal, puffed quinoa, puffed millet, puffed amaranth, etc for more wholesome options.
