Easy Potato Curry | Best potato masala for poori or chapati

Ingredients
  

  • 3 large Potatoes chopped into cubes
  • 1 large Onion sliced
  • 3-4 Green chilli slit
  • 1 large Tomato chopped
  • 1/4 cup Split moong dal optional
  • 2 sprigs Curry leaves
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • Salt To taste
  • For Tempering/Tadka:
  • 2 tbsp Coconut oil
  • 1 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 3-4 Dried red chili
  • 1 sprig Curry leaves

Instructions
 

  • Put the first 8 ingredients into a pressure cooker and pour water enough to almost over the content.

  • Cover and cook for 2 whistles on medium flame. Switch off the flame and let the pressure release by itself before opening.

  • On medium-low flame mash some of the potatoes, so that the gravy can thicken. When you reach the consistency that you prefer, switch off the flame.

  • Heat coconut oil in a small pan for the tadka. Splutter the mustard seeds, and fry the red chilies and curry leaves.

  • Add to the curry in the pressure cooker. Potato curry is ready to have with puris or chapatis.
