Yummy Strawberry Sauce

Ingredients
  

  • 375 gm Strawberries washed, hulled and chopped
  • 2 tsp Lemon juice
  • 4 tbsp Granulated sugar

Instructions
 

  • Place the cut strawberries, lemon juice and granulated sugar into a sauce pan.
  • Cook on medium heat initially for a minute.
  • Then turn the heat to low and let simmer for 10 - 15 mins stirring occasionally. No need for any additional water as the strawberries will release its own water.
  • Switch off the flame when you reach your desired consistency, keeping in mind that the sauce will thicken upon cooling and refrigeration.
  • Let it cool and transfer to a clean glass jar.
  • Strawberry sauce is ready to enjoy on ice cream, pancakes , cheesecakes etc. :))

Notes

  • Store in the refrigerator for 3-4 days
  • Freeze for later in freezer-proof jars for up to 2 months.
  • For strawberry coulis - Blend the strawberry sauce in a blender and strain through a sieve for a smooth sauce.
