Melt the butter in a saucepan and swirl it around to coat the pan.
Mix the slightly cooled butter and bread crumbs thoroughly.
Spread half of the mixture in the sauce pan and press down.
Add dollops of the cream and spread as evenly as possible.
Then layer the mozzarella cheese.
Layer the remaining bread crumbs on top and press lightly.
Place the saucepan on a heavy bottom pan on medium heat for the first 2-3 mins. Then bring the flame to low, cover and cook for 20-25 mins.
In the meantime, prepare the sugar syrup by boiling all the ingredients for the syrup just until the sugar dissolves. You don’t have to achieve any string consistency.
Slide (don’t Flip) the Kunafa onto a plate. Clean the pan with a tissue paper and rub some butter on the pan.
Place the saucepan on top of the plate and flip the kunafa onto the sauce pan.
Cook the other side for 10 mins. Slide the Kunafa onto the serving plate.
Pour most of the syrup on top and garnish with pistachios.
Serve hot/warm with additional syrup if needed. Enjoy!!
