Almond Nutella | Homemade Nutella

Course Breakfast, Dessert, Snack
Servings 1 cup

Ingredients

  • 2 cup Raw almonds
  • 1 cup Coconut sugar/jaggery/granulated sugar powdered
  • ½ cup Unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ cup Vanilla essence/extract
  • 3 Tbsp. Sweetened or semi-sweet chocolate chips or bar its optional, but I recommend it
  • ½ tsp Salt
  • 2 tsp Virgin coconut oil/Vegetable oil optional

Instructions

  • Dry roast the raw almonds on medium - low eat. Make sure it doesn't burn. Let it cool down a bit.
  • Transfer the almonds into the mixer jar. (The almonds should be slightly warm at this point) and blend the nuts for 10-20 secs and scrap the sides of the jar as needed.
  • If the blender is getting too hot, remove from the machine and let it cool down slightly. Eventually the oils in the almonds will release, so you wont have to add additional oil, which is always a plus point.
  • When the almond butter is ready, add in powdered coconut sugar or granulated sugar, salt, vanilla essence, semi-sweet chocolate chips. Blend until smooth, scraping the sides in between.
  • You can add virgin coconut oil or vegetable oil to help achieve a smooth consistency faster. (I have not used oil here)
  • Healthy and delicious Nutella made with Almonds is ready to enjoy on a slice of bread. Your kids will love this more than its refined counterpart and you will feel happy about serving it too :)) So what are you waiting for, get cooking!!
