Coconut Chicken Fry | Payolli chicken fry

Ingredients
  

  • 500 gm Chicken cut to pieces
  • 1 cup Grated Coconut
  • 1 inch Ginger crushed
  • 4 cloves Garlic crushed
  • 2 tbsp Kashmiri red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp Fennel powder
  • 1 tsp Black pepper powder
  • 1 tbsp Vinegar or lemon juice
  • to taste Salt
  • enough to fry Coconut Oil/vegetable oil
  • 5 nos Dried red chilies chopped & deseed if you want to reduce the spice level
  • few Curry leaves
  • ¼ cup Bread crumbs

Instructions
 

  • Make slits on the chicken pieces with a knife. Add ginger, garlic, red chilly powder, turmeric powder, fennel powder, black pepper powder, vinegar (lemon juice) and salt to the chicken.
  • Massage it well into the chicken and keep aside for 1 hour. Grind the grated coconut to a fine powder.
  • Heat oil in a pan and fry the chicken pieces on a low flame till they are cooked and golden brown.
  • Remove most of the oil from the pan. In the remaining oil, fry the ground coconut, dried red chillies and curry leaves till they are golden brown in colour.
  • Now, add in the bread crumbs and keep on stirring.
  • When the mixture turns crispy, add the chicken pieces and fry for a few more minutes.
  • Serve sizzling hot!! Enjoy!!
