WHAT'S SPECIAL

Swedish Chocolate cake, also known as KLADDKAKA is every chocolate lover's dream come true. It's an easy one-pot recipe and the outcome is a cross between a brownie, molten lava cake and souffle.

Swedish Chocolate Cake (Kladdkaka)

Servings 8
Prep Time 5 mins
Cook Time 25 mins
Total Time 30 mins

Ingredients

  • 135 gm Salted butter
  • 55 gm Unsweetened cocoa powder ¾ cup
  • 350 gm Fine granulated sugar 1.5 cup
  • 3 nos Eggs large
  • 1 tsp Vanilla essence
  • 110 gm All purpose flour (maida) 1 cup

Instructions

  • Line the bottom of a 7 – 9 inch springform or normal baking pan with parchment paper.
  • Melt salted butter in a saucepan.
  • Remove from heat and add unsweetened cocoa powder, granulated sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, flour and combine thoroughly but do not over-mix.
  • Bake in a 180 C preheated oven for 20 – 30 mins.
The timing depends on the size of the pan you are using. It took me 25 mins in an 8-inch pan. It should be set around the edges and still gooey (undercooked) in the middle. If you prefer the center to be more like molten lava, bake the cake a little less approx. 20 – 22 mins.
  • Let the cake cool in the pan for 20 mins and remove from the pan. If using a normal cake pan ‘gently’ invert onto a wire rack.
  • Dust with powdered sugar.
  • Serve warm as is or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Enjoy!!!

Notes

  • You may have to experiment with the baking time according to the size of your pan and preference of how gooey you want your cake to be.

Food for Soul

A lie is never good, no matter what color it is (white or black). Don’t worry about hurting a friend with the truth.

We all need close, spiritual, loving friends who tell us the truth. While the truth is sometimes painful, we can’t strengthen our walk with God, correct our missteps in our discipleship, or confess our sins to another without these kinds of friends. Iron sharpens iron, so we need strong and trustworthy friends.

And yes, there will be times when we are wrong, rude, insensitive, hurtful, selfish, sinful, or arrogant. In those moments, we don’t need the fawning admiration of fake friends but the strong word of correction of faithful friends.

An enemy is happy for us to have our moment in the sun, even if that moment is leading us toward disaster. A true friend tells us the truth about life, ourselves, and our flaws. We need such friends because “Faithful are the wounds of a friend [who corrects out of love and concern], But the kisses of an enemy are deceitful [because they serve his hidden agenda].  – Proverbs 27:6 The Amplified Bible

Let’s not flinch or turn away from correction or rebuke when they come from godly mentors, parents, and friends.

God is with you!!
